VI Summit of the Americas and Workers Forum
On April 14 and 15 the heads of state of the region will meet in the VI Summit of the Americas under the topic of “Connecting the Americas: Partners for Prosperity” in the city of Cartagena, Colombia. In the framework of that Summit, the representatives of workers will have a forum to analyze the labor situation and its repercussions for the union movement; this will conclude with a dialogue with the Heads of Delegation on April 13.

Thanks to Canada, Jamaica, Bahamas, Ecuador and Suriname for driving the RIAL
The Ministries of Labor of Canada, Jamaica, Bahamas, Ecuador and Suriname have made contributions to the RIAL Voluntary Contribution Fund in the last few days. We thank them for their commitment and support which helps us continue making this Network a pillar of cooperation and strengthening of the labor administrations of the region.
With firm step forward, the Gender Audit in El Salvador culminated
After two weeks of intense work and guided by a team of specialists from the OAS and ILO, the Gender Audit in the Ministry of Labor of El Salvador culminated, allowing the identification of good practices and recommendations to strengthen the focus of gender in the structure, policies and programs of the Ministry. Minister Humberto Centeno and the Director of Social Development and Employment of the OAS, Evelyn Jacir de Lovo, actively participated in this exercise that the Ministry called “Preaching with Example”. In the coming months and with the support of the ILO and OAS, the Report of the Audit will be translated into a Work Plan.
April 20: last day to send proposals
